TCJournal: The AI Advantage in TCGs | TCJournal

The TCG market is evolving, but the way we consume content hasn't kept up. If you're serious about building a strong, upward-trending portfolio, you don't have time for endless rambling. You need raw…

Though we get some slack for using AI in a TCG space, we will continue to do so . A massive chunk of the TCG market is covered by YouTubers and various content creators. While we definitely have our favorites and still watch their videos, we're not tied to their personalities and can clearly see their takes as subjective. Furthermore, it's easy for creators to get burnt out when life happens; very few post daily and some disappear for months at a time. Using an AI avatar helps keep our content consistent and manageable, though maybe that will change in the future as we grow.

Personally, I see a lot of fluff in the TCG content space and simply want more meat and potatoes. This market moves quick. There are various TCGs to follow including Pokémon, Gundam, One Piece, Lorcana, Riftbound, Dragon Ball , and more, and I'm just looking for the highlights. Which is exactly why we started posting our newsletter as video content. Sure, it's nothing fancy, just a background and an AI avatar speaking. But most of the TCG content we watch is just someone speaking with talking-head content anyway—content that, to be honest, I don't even watch, I just listen to. To remove the personality out of it and get the straight story, the AI avatar does its job perfectly. It relays the vital information and does it in just a few minutes.

Ironically, our format does exactly what most anti-AI followers say is "AI-slop"—but it does it in the best way possible for investors. It aggressively cuts down a 30-minute subjective ramble on a TCG topic down to a few minutes of pure value. When your goal is to make smart financial plays in the card market, getting the straight facts efficiently is a massive competitive advantage.

When it comes to accuracy, the honest truth is no one who comments on the market really knows exactly what's going on, including us. There is no traditional stock ticker, perfectly measured market share, or completely verifiable data to get exact figures. Even though there are estimated pull rates and grading population reports that absolutely help guide us, predicting the TCG market will simply never be an exact science.

Even card rarity, artwork appeal, and community sentiment are ultimately subjective. We've seen high volume cards hit crazy high price amounts driven purely by character hype, while much more scarce, difficult-to-pull singles are still sitting quietly in the single digits. The market is driven by human emotion just as much as it is by scarcity , making it a wildly unpredictable landscape to navigate on pure data alone.

Pulling data with a human, TCG-experienced touch gives the best of both worlds by combining the two. We publish weekly undervalued picks after combining the available market data with someone who's been deeply entrenched in the TCG space for years, and even though we're currently in a bull market, most of the picks have already exceeded expectations. Taking it a step further, our Hidden Gems collective shows subscribers personal picks on what's undervalued in the market, showing there's always a good deal even when most of the space is lost in the hype. This heavily curated approach cuts through the endless noise of places like Reddit—who mostly just want to whine or bully individuals in the market—by just posting the minimal, need-to-know info.

Our community is built to grow for like-minded individuals who want to grow their TCG portfolios, get the main information, and make their own individual calls. We hope to provide the exact tools needed for navigating this landscape and make it less about an individual content creator's personality, and much more about the TCG investing finance space as a whole that is rapidly growing.
