A few days ago, I was genuinely surprised to receive an email for my TCGplayer seller account announcing a new global selling expansion. Through partnerships with Buy and Ship and MyUS , TCGplayer is now allowing international buyers to purchase listings while sellers continue shipping exactly as they always have to a domestic address. No settings changes. No added friction. Just broader reach.
This is a meaningful shift for sellers like myself who have historically been limited to United States buyers only. Overnight, the potential buyer pool increases dramatically. Looking ahead, this is a major reason why 2026 is shaping up to be a breakout year for TCG buying and selling . Liquidity fuels confidence, and confidence fuels volume.
For comparison, my experience on eBay tells a clear story. About twenty five percent of my current eBay sales now come from international buyers. Before eBay updated its global shipping and cost structure, that number was closer to five percent. Since eBay owns TCGplayer , it is reasonable to expect similar behavior once international buyers become comfortable using these new forwarding options.
From a market perspective, this expansion should accelerate price discovery . Cards that once sat due to limited domestic demand may now clear faster as overseas collectors bring different preferences and purchasing power. Over time, this tightens pricing gaps, reduces stale inventory, and makes undervalued listings harder to find.
There is also an important question about what comes next. This is speculation, but it would make sense for TCGplayer to eventually allow sellers to purchase shipping directly through the platform , similar to how eBay operates today. That update has not happened yet, and it remains a mystery why, but this move suggests TCGplayer is actively building toward a more globally integrated marketplace.
Tip
Sellers should re-evaluate inventory with international demand in mind. Premium singles, niche cards, and higher grade items often resonate more strongly overseas and may see faster sell through as global buyers enter the marketplace.
