Brightness of Hope is one of the first Fusion World booster boxes in a while to trade at a reasonable level. Its TCGplayer market price sits at $195.72, still about 63% above the $119.76 MSRP math (24 packs at $4.99), but look at what came before it. Story Booster 01 and Dual Evolution both trade at more than double that, and Cross Force opened with around $300 sales in February before settling near $240. If you've been waiting on the sidelines for a shot at sealed Dragon Ball, this is the cheapest entry point the line has offered in months.
As of October 19, the TCGplayer market prices line up like this:
-Story Booster 01 at $461.46
-Dual Evolution at $429.62
-Cross Force at $242.92
-Brightness of Hope at $195.72
Why $200 looks like the neighborhood of the floor
The first weekend moved real volume: TCGplayer logged 296 boxes sold from Friday through Sunday, after presales that ran $404.70 in late September and about $299 in early October. A handful of boxes have already cleared as low as $169.99, so the floor isn't a hard wall, but the bulk of sales are landing between $180 and $210. History says Dragon Ball sealed doesn't stay down for long. Cross Force bottomed near $213 in late August and has climbed back to $243, and Story Booster 01 slid from roughly $588 in early August to about $370 in mid-September before rebounding to $461 within a month. Once distributors stop shipping a Fusion World set, supply dries up quickly, and prices have historically followed.
The big three: price discovery is still underway
At the top of the set sit the three Super Alternate Art secret rares, and sales are so thin that TCGplayer hasn't recorded a completed sale on any of them yet, so we turned to eBay. The Bardock FB11-123 Super Alt Art has the clearest read, with near-mint copies selling on eBay for about $1,750 and $1,800 , right in line with its $1,799.70 median ask on TCGplayer. The Son Goku FB11-121 Super Alt Art is the clear king, with listings starting above $4,000 and a median ask of $5,000. The Shallet FB11-122 Super Alt Art rounds out the trio with listings from about $1,400 and a $1,553 median ask. Treat the Goku and Shallet numbers as asking prices, not proven value, until a few sales actually clear.
Don't let the top three fool you
Some of the best artwork in this set, and arguably in the history of the Dragon Ball card game, lives one tier below the chase cards. The Son Goku FB11-121 Alternate Art has one of the strongest color palettes the series has produced, and the market agrees: nine copies sold on TCGplayer since Friday, opening at $260 to $275 and holding above $200 all weekend, for a $242.48 market price. The Future Trunks FB11-036 Alternate Art captures Trunks squaring off with Frieza, one of the most iconic moments in the franchise, and trades around $74 to $82. In our view both out-class the top three, and the Goku costs less than 5% of its Super Alt Art sibling's asking price. It's only day three of sales, though, and as more boxes get opened we expect better entry points on both.
Value is spread across the whole set
What makes Brightness of Hope attractive to openers is how widely the value is distributed. Beyond the headline cards, the Goku Black FB11-049 Leader alt art sits near $150, the Son Goku FB11-011 alt art near $56, and the Shallet alt art near $44. With a box running about $196, a single mid-tier alt art can return a meaningful share of your cost, rather than the whole box riding on one pull.
Lay the whole ladder out and the gaps are striking. At the top, the Son Goku FB11-121 Super Alt Art carries a $5,000 median ask, the Bardock FB11-123 Super Alt Art has sold for $1,750 to $1,800 on eBay, and the Shallet FB11-122 Super Alt Art carries a $1,553 median ask. Below them, TCGplayer market prices run $242.48 for the Son Goku FB11-121 alt art, $149.50 for the Goku Black FB11-049 Leader alt art, $82.00 for the Future Trunks FB11-036 alt art, $55.95 for the Son Goku FB11-011 alt art and $44.20 for the Shallet alt art.
What else sets this set apart
Bandai packed more collectible layers into FB11 than usual. Each color includes a special Dragon Ball Legends collaboration card, the Super Combo cards get alt-art versions (the yellow Beerus carries a Legends design), and the Visual Alt-Arts recreate famous series moments. The Leaders give it legs on the competitive side too: Goku redirects attacks onto his Evolve cards, the Future Leader adds +1 Ki every turn, Shallot/Giblet ramps two energy into big Evolve plays, and Bardock recycles his crew's When KO'd effects. Leaders that see tournament play tend to keep their alt arts in demand long after release, which is a quiet tailwind for cards like the Goku Black Leader alt art.
Brightness of Hope had a strong first weekend: healthy volume, a box price that finally makes sense, and singles that reward collectors who care more about art than rarity stamps. Our playbook: if you want sealed Dragon Ball, boxes in the $180 to $200 range are the best entry the line has offered in months, and recent sets suggest that window won't stay open long. For singles, be patient for two to three weeks while supply hits the market, then target the Goku and Future Trunks alt arts. Leave the Super Alt Arts to price discovery until real sales replace asking prices. Whatever you chase, this set proves Fusion World can still deliver hype without the $400 cover charge.
